On June 24 the Chartered Professional Accountants Act was brought into force, and with that CPABC’s governing documents flowing from the new Act—the Code of Professional Conduct, Bylaws, and Bylaw Regulations—went into immediate effect.
Now officially merged, the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia, the Certified Management Accountants Society of British Columbia, and the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia continue on as an organization of accounting professionals, Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, CPA British Columbia, or CPABC.
White Kennedy is honoured to announce that Partner, Michael Doherty, CPA, CA has been appointed to the newly formed Public Practice Committee of the CPABC. “We are entering an exciting and challenging phase in the accounting profession, with a unique opportunity to influence standards and training of professional accountants now and in the future. I believe committee members should continue the excellent work performed to date, and ensure our profession continues to have a strong voice in the maintenance of professional standards and protection of the public interests. My experience with the Practice Review & Licensing Committee and ICABC Council over the past five years leads me to believe I can offer a broad, diverse point of view to represent our
members” states Mike at a the official announcement June 24th in Vancouver.
Please join us in congratulating Mike!
